Maria Melva E. Valdez

Maria Melva E. Valdez joined Singularity Academy as a fellow in July 2024. Melva brings a wealth of experience in women’s leadership, family matters, and corporate law and a deep commitment to addressing global challenges through legal expertise.

Melva has served as a Partner at Bello Valdez & Esguerra Law Offices in the Philippines, where she demonstrated exceptional leadership in mergers and acquisitions, securities and company law, investments, and corporate rehabilitation. Her distinguished career includes roles such as Chairman/Managing Partner and numerous directorships and secretarial positions in prominent organisations like Keppel Philippines Holdings, Inc. and Servier Philippines, Inc.

At Singularity Academy, Melva is eager to share her extensive insights on women’s leadership, business law, corporate law, data privacy, sustainable business practices, and family matters such as adoption and surrogacy. She has been a prominent speaker at international conferences, including the Women Business Lawyers’ Session at the Inter-Pacific Bar Association Conference in Sydney, Australia. Additionally, she has published numerous articles on business immigration law and gender diversity in the legal profession, showcasing her commitment to advancing the legal field and promoting inclusive practices.

Melva holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of the Philippines, Diliman, and was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1986.
