Prof. Dr. Hiroyuki Okamuro
Professor Hiroyuki Okamuro, a distinguished economist with a Doctor of Economics (Dr. rer. pol.) from the University of Bonn, Germany, joined Singularity Academy as an honorary fellow in July 2024. He brings a wealth of expertise in small business economics, innovation, entrepreneurship, and industrial organisation to the academy. His impressive career at Hitotsubashi University includes being a Dean of the Graduate School of Economics, Director of the TDB-CAREE (Teikoku Databank Center for Advanced Empirical Research on Enterprise and Economy) , and Head of the Center for Regional and SME Policy Studies. In addition, he has been a Visiting Research Fellow of the NISTEP (National Institute of Science and Technology Policy) of MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport, Science and Technology) of Japan, a vice president of JCARPS (Japan Center for Academia-industry Research Partnership for Small-Medium Enterprises), a Consulting Fellow at the Research Institute of Economy, Trade and Industry (RIETI). Professor Okamuro's extensive experience and profound insights will undoubtedly enrich the academic and industrial community at Singularity Academy and contribute significantly to its mission of fostering innovation and excellence in education.
